LEGO The Fantastic Four H.E.R.B.I.E. set 76339 — white and dark-azure buildable robot with articulated arms and rotating tape-recorder eyes

146 entered, four advanced, and the Force arrives in days

LEGO Ideas results are in: four sets approved from a record 146 submissions, including Edward Scissorhands, Amsterdam Canal Houses, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and The Old Man and the Sea. Marvel's 76339 H.E.R.B.I.E. is officially revealed at 747 pieces and $74.99, available August 1. May the 4th kicks off May 1 with the Darksaber GWP at $160+ in Star Wars purchases. Toy Story 5's first dedicated set, 43304 Blaze's Horse Ranch, arrives Thursday at $49.99.

LEGO The Fantastic Four H.E.R.B.I.E. set 76339 — 747-piece buildable white robot with rotating eyes, articulated arms and fingers, and an opening torso panel

LEGO officially reveals 76339 H.E.R.B.I.E., the Fantastic Four's robot companion

Set 76339 The Fantastic Four H.E.R.B.I.E. arrives August 1 at $74.99 (£59.99/€69.99), pre-order open now. The 747-piece build recreates the retro-futuristic robot from the 2025 film: rotating eyes, articulated arms and fingers, and a hinged torso compartment that stores a mug and screwdriver. New Elementary spotted new mold elements in the official images. It's the second Fantastic Four set, following 76316's Galactus battle from last June.

Minty Take

H.E.R.B.I.E. is a smarter property pick than it might look. A 1978 comics debut, multiple animated runs, and the 2025 film give the character genuine cross-generational pull. More broadly, a buildable companion set puts a team's personality on a shelf rather than mid-battle. It's a format LEGO could apply far more widely across its licenses.

LEGO Ideas picks four from a record 146 in controversial results

The second 2025 review qualified a record 146 projects, but only four advanced: Edward Scissorhands, Amsterdam Canal Houses, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and The Old Man and the Sea (moved from the Parking Lot). Community reaction has been pointed, with many noting LEGO's restraint given the scale of submissions. Lunch Atop a Skyscraper and Daft Punk moved to the Parking Lot. The Ideas pipeline holds 17 sets in development.

Minty Take

Four from 146 is a meaningful signal, but it's also a defensible one. The Ideas pipeline is already deep: 17 sets in development, multiple competition tracks running alongside reviews. Adding more while earlier approvals are still finding release dates would compound an already crowded backlog. The community will push back, and that's fair. So is LEGO's caution.

LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter (75442) lifestyle environment photograph — the UCS May the 4th 2026 launch set

May the 4th 2026 starts Thursday with GWPs, deals, and in-store events

The May the 4th 2026 event runs May 1-6 at LEGO stores and online. The Darksaber (40917) is the headline GWP at $160+ Star Wars purchases; the Mandalorian and Grogu Display ships with the N-1 Starfighter; the Razor Crest (30728) arrives with $40+ select Star Wars buys. Buyers' guides from Brick Fanatics and Jay's Brick Blog are live now. In-store build events are running at multiple retailers across the week.

Minty Take

The Mandalorian sets dropping in late April was smart for product momentum but slightly muddy for event clarity. When new releases land a week early, the May 1-6 sales window loses some of its urgency as a distinct moment. Worth watching whether LEGO recalibrates the cadence in future years or leans further into the extended window.

LEGO Disney Toy Story 5 Blaze's Horse Ranch (43304) — barn playset with Woody and Jessie minifigures, Bullseye, and new Toy Story 5 animal characters

Toy Story 5's only minifigure set is a 4+ build arriving May 1

43304 Blaze's Horse Ranch (209 pieces, $49.99) releases May 1 as the sole Toy Story 5 set with traditional minifigures. Woody and Jessie get new versions alongside a returning Bullseye, plus three animal figures from the upcoming film: a black pig, a pony, and a winged horse. Ashnflash spotted what may be a Toy Story 5 spoiler in Woody's design. The film hits theaters in mid-June.

Minty Take

A 4+ set as the flagship for a franchise's theatrical debut is a curious choice. Toy Story 3 got a full dedicated wave in 2010. Whether LEGO is holding back more for closer to the June release or treating Toy Story 5 as a Disney theme story rather than a film launch is worth watching.

Trend Watch

The LEGO Ideas pipeline is deep, and it's only getting deeper

The second 2025 review was the biggest in Ideas history, and LEGO approved just four projects. That restraint isn't surprising in isolation: the pipeline already holds 17 sets in development, combining review approvals with competition winners across multiple tracks. The pattern across recent cycles has been consistent: as the submission pool grows, the approval window tightens. How long before fan designers start factoring in approval odds that look increasingly steep?

May the 4th is slowly becoming May the 1st

For the second consecutive year, the headline Star Wars LEGO release has landed before May 4 itself. The Mandalorian wave dropped in late April; the UCS N-1 Starfighter anchors a May 1 launch. The event now runs May 1-6, and most buying guides target that opening weekend rather than the 4th specifically. The cultural moment is still real. The calendar is working against it.

LEGO's animated film tie-ins are leaner than they used to be

Toy Story 3 got a dedicated wave in 2010. Toy Story 5 gets one 4+ set alongside a broader Disney wave that doesn't break out the film specifically. The shift reflects how LEGO handles theatrical tie-ins outside its anchor licenses: invest in the theme, let the movie borrow the spotlight rather than drive a dedicated wave. It's efficient. Fans of specific properties notice the difference.
