SpongeBob SquarePants Returns to LEGO Icons After 14 Years
SpongeBob rejoins the shelf as an adult-focused build: the 1,794-piece Icons Bikini Bottom recreates Conch Street with the Pineapple House, Squidward's place, and Patrick's rock, plus a $12.99 BrickHeadz figure. Both land September 1, marking the sponge's first LEGO sets since the theme wrapped in 2012.
Icons branding for a Nickelodeon cartoon sounds odd until you remember what Icons actually sells: nostalgia, priced for people who grew up with the source material. SpongeBob debuted in 1999; the fans who watched it first are now the ones buying $220 pineapple houses. That's the theme's real audience now.
