Land speed record: LEGO's July hits hard in June

July doesn't wait. The Technic Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear megacar (4,104 pieces, $449.99) arrives with its own spectacle: a 327,906-piece life-size build hit an impressive 111 km/h at Goodwood, more than doubling the record. LEGO's first working pinball machine carries Classic Space into the Icons line at $229.99, though early reviews have reservations. And BrickLink gets a fresh identity.

LEGO Technic Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear revealed, with a record to match

Koenigsegg's Sadair's Spear is the sixth Technic Ultimate Car, and it came with a proper launch: a 327,906-piece life-size build hit 111 km/h at Goodwood, more than doubling the record. The 4,104-piece set lists at $449.99 for July 1, with a Steering Wheel GWP (40894) for day-one buyers and a 9-speed transmission under the hood.

Minty Take

The Ultimate Car series is six entries deep with a formula now: elite hypercar partner, 4,000-plus pieces, life-size stunt at reveal. The car selection keeps raising the bar. Koenigsegg's Sadair's Spear is rarefied even by Koenigsegg standards, a Jesko variant with its own Goodwood hill-climb history. Returning to Goodwood for the launch stunt was the right call.

LEGO reveals its first working pinball machine, Classic Space themed

Classic Space comes back as a playable pinball game. The 2,274-piece Icons 11374 lists at $229.99, out July 1 for Insiders and July 4 for all, with spring launcher, dual flippers, spinning bumpers, and ramp bridge. A new light blue Classic Space astronaut joins the color roster. Early reviews flag the play mechanics as a weak spot.

I Can't BELIEVE LEGO Made This WORK!
Minty Take

The Classic Space wrapper is smart, and the new light blue astronaut alone will move units for collectors. At $229.99, though, a working pinball machine has to play well. Early reviewers say the mechanics fall short. LEGO's first working game set opens a legitimate format; iteration is how it becomes worth the price.

BrickLink gets a new look, seven years into the LEGO era

BrickLink's visual identity gets its first significant refresh since the 2019 LEGO acquisition. The new branding includes an updated logo, navigation icons, and a more colorful Studio palette, all designed for better mobile navigation and a more uniform look across the platform's tools. The heritage of the community marketplace is preserved; the look is new.

Minty Take

BrickLink changes since the 2019 acquisition haven't all landed well with the community. This update keeps things visual, with explicit language about honoring the platform's heritage. Better mobile navigation is a genuine improvement for buyers. But the LEGO brick DNA in the new logo isn't a subtle signal: integration has a direction, and this is a step in it.

Technic's life-size reveal playbook keeps raising the bar

The Bugatti got a full-size drivable build at launch. So did the McLaren. Now Koenigsegg. The stunt playbook is established; what keeps evolving is the record. The 111 km/h Goodwood run more than doubles the previous mark. Whether the next Ultimate Car leans toward a more familiar nameplate or stays in hypercar territory is where this series goes next.

BrickLink is becoming more LEGO, and the logo says so

Since the 2019 acquisition, every BrickLink change has tilted the platform closer to LEGO's ecosystem. New fees, policy adjustments, and now a logo with LEGO brick DNA. None individually is a revolution; together they describe an integration arc. This refresh, being purely visual, may be the easiest one yet for the community to absorb. The pattern is the story.

Icons builds a functional-play category; the pinball machine is its first test

Pac-Man Arcade. Now a working pinball machine. Icons is building a functional-play sub-category, and the logic is sound: displays that play. The pinball machine's early reviews find the gap between build experience and play experience too wide at $229.99. LEGO has the data now. Whether the next Icons game set closes that gap determines whether the format grows or stalls.
