The Week LEGO's Big Ideas Got Even Bigger

This week's reveals share a theme: scale. LEGO Ideas unveils Downton Abbey, a 4,711-piece Highclere Castle build with 13 minifigures. BrickLink Designer Program Series 9 finalizes five crowdfunded sets up to $349.99. Nintendo reveals a third Zelda set, the 1,750-piece Link and Epona statue. Batman Day sticks to loyalty points and a free polybag.

LEGO Reveals Third Zelda Set: Link and Epona

Nintendo used its Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct to unveil 77094 Link and Epona, an 18+, roughly 1,750-piece statue of Link riding Epona from Ocarina of Time, Master Sword raised overhead. It's LEGO's third Zelda set. Release lands spring 2027; pricing hasn't been announced yet.

Minty Take

Three Zelda sets in, and each has taken a different shape: a world to build, a scene to play, now something to display. That kind of format range is usually reserved for a company's biggest licensing partners. For a theme this size, treating Zelda that way says a lot about how much weight Nintendo now carries in LEGO's plans.

LEGO Ideas Reveals 4,711-Piece Downton Abbey Set

LEGO Ideas keeps testing how big a fan-built set can get: 21373 Downton Abbey recreates Highclere Castle across two open-back levels, dining room and library upstairs, kitchen and servants' hall below, with 13 minifigures from Season 6. It runs 4,711 pieces, $349.99, and ships October 1.

Minty Take

Downton Abbey is a real bet: a British period drama, an 18+ price tag near $350, and a fandom that doesn't obviously overlap with LEGO's core buyer. But that's the LEGO Ideas playbook now: chase built-in fan bases wherever they are, and let the crossover audience sort itself out. Sometimes that's Marvel. This time it's costume drama.

LEGO BrickHeadz Batman 85th Anniversary (40726) limited edition set, the returning Insiders reward featured in Batman Day promotions

LEGO Batman Day Kicks Off With Double Points, Free Gifts

Batman Day promotions stack on September's Insiders Members Day. Members Day brought double points September 9 across City, Friends, Classic, Creator 3-in-1, DUPLO, Ninjago, and DREAMZzz. Through September 19, Batman Day adds double points on select sets, a free Batsuit bag with $40+ purchases, the returning BrickHeadz 40726 for 3,000 points, and a free Birthday Cake (40780) with $65+ orders.

Minty Take

LEGO's stacking three promo mechanics into one window: theme-wide bonus points, a returning limited edition, and a GWP that wasn't part of the original plan (the Birthday Cake reads like excess inventory finding a purpose). It's a lot of moving pieces for one Batman Day, but none of them require buying anything you weren't already considering.

Bricklink Series 9 Fishermans Village

BrickLink Series 9 Reveals Final Designs and Pricing

The wait for real numbers is over: BrickLink Designer Program Series 9 finalizes five fan-designed sets, from the 613-piece Pumpkin Patch at $49.99 to the 3,995-piece Fisherman's Village at $349.99, with Sleepy Dragon Inn, Wild West Blacksmith, and Woodbrick Freight Depot in between. Pre-orders run October 6 through 12, production scaled to demand.

Minty Take

Building Together's read on Series 9 is that LEGO listened: more minifigures, and none of the AI-flavored box art that dogged recent waves. Whether that's the full story or just one creator's take, it points at something real: BDP hasn't always landed clean, and this lineup reads like a deliberate course correction.

LEGO's Big-Build Programs Keep Raising the Bar

Downton Abbey's 4,711 pieces and BrickLink Series 9's 4,027-piece Fisherman's Village both landed this week within a few hundred pieces of each other, each near the top of its own program. Rumors point to an even bigger Icons Venice diorama, nearly 5,700 pieces, later this year. The bar for LEGO's biggest builds keeps moving, and it's moving fast.

Nintendo's LEGO Footprint Keeps Widening

Brick Fanatics used this week's Zelda reveal to argue Nintendo is becoming LEGO's most important licensing partner, and the timeline backs it up: three Zelda sets in increasingly different formats, arriving on top of LEGO's established Super Mario line. Licensed LEGO used to be anchored by Marvel and Star Wars. Nintendo now looks like it's building toward a similar footprint.

LEGO Ideas' Review Pipeline Is Never Empty

92 projects just closed out qualification for LEGO Ideas' Second 2026 Review, and four more already have the votes toward the Third. The overlap looks deliberate: as one review phase closes, the next is already gathering steam. Expect results from the 92-project field within the next few months, with new set announcements likely to keep arriving in waves rather than one at a time.
